husband-and-wife team produced a destination restaurant where American
sensibilities influence everything from the food to the style of service.
Creative but straightforward in his cooking, acclaimed Chef Jonathan
Harootunian bases each dish on the principle of simplicity along with
a passion and respect for ingredients – creating a 21st century spin
on Contemporary American Cuisine. Ever inventive, he builds on his
philosophical background in Japanese and Italian culinary traditions.
He takes artisanal and organic ingredients to a new level, combining
them in unexpected but approachable ways. In December 2004, Chef Harootunian
and Courtright’s were awarded 4-stars by Phil Vettel, Chicago Tribune’s
